Summertime in Peggy’s Cove is always special, but the Peggy’s Cove Church Heritage Fund is making it even more so on Sunday, August 2nd, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, with a Pancake Breakfast by the Sea at the Sou’Wester Restaurant Patio.
Relax, take in the iconic view, and enjoy pancakes, bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee or tea, and juice. The cost is a free-will offering to support the ongoing campaign to restore the historic Peggy’s Cove Church, and all are welcome. Reservations are not required.
This breakfast, offered with the generous support of the Sou’Wester, is one in a continuing series of fundraising and awareness events to build community and financial support for the church, which has welcomed people to Peggy’s Cove since 1883.
In July, the Peggy’s Cove Church hosted a sing-along and received a portion of the proceeds of a “Tuesday Quilters +2” recent quilt show and sale held at St. Peter’s Church.
The church’s heritage fund is actively seeking and receiving grants, but most require matching by community donations, so the ongoing grassroots fundraising campaign is critically important.
In addition to raising funds, events at and for the church are helping to raise awareness of the work to save this landmark building, part of our area’s heritage.
Community members and visitors are also welcome to visit the church, 1 pm to 4 pm each Saturday, throughout summertime until September 26th. Worship services, to which all are also welcome, will be held at 10 am on August 9th and 30th, September 20th, and October 11th.
