All About Art in The Masthead News
The Masthead News has, for over 30 years, been proud to bring stories about artists, their art, and arts events happening in our circulation area. We are fortunate to have a rich tradition of the arts in our region, and we know our readers enjoy these stories.
The number of arts stories we receive is growing, which is good news. But it means there is increasing pressure on editorial space in the pages of the Masthead.
To maintain our variety of stories while sharing more news about the arts, we have added a new tab on our website called “The Arts.” We will still publish stories about the arts in the pages of The Masthead News. But sharing more stories on the website gives us the flexibility to update stories throughout the month, include more images, and even invite video submissions with selected stories.
Information for Artists and Arts Groups
There are several ways information about arts events can be shared with our readers:
- Send event notices (see our new Community Events notice form here).
- Submit stories (350 words maximum, with two to three high-resolution images)
- Purchase advertising (see our Advertising Rates here).
Welcome to “In the Garden,” a Virtual Art Show
Artists from Prospect to Lunenburg are helping us celebrate our new website section, “The Arts,” with a virtual art show called “In the Garden.” Information about how to reach the artist accompanies each image, so if you see a work you like, please contact the artist!
If you are an artist living or working in our delivery area, and would like to submit a piece to this show, please email sharon@themastheadnews.ca. The deadline for submissions is May 25, 2022.
